Good training design helps the learner. It is systematic, it is logical and it takes the learner in steps from the known to the unknown. It is centred on the learner.

It is also enjoyable, it stimulates interest and it taps into the learners needs.

Not only that! It also tests the learner, questioning their knowledge, feelings, beliefs or all three while testing their understanding of what they are learning.

It is not reliant on gimmicky tricks designed to show of the designer’s graphical skills. It is not filled with superfluous information. It is not over reliant on the learner clicking the “next” button.

Good training design adheres to sound learning theories. It allows learners to interact, even if they are in remote locations. It also gives them access to expert opinions.
